The landscape of novel alternative methods (NAMs) is experiencing a wave of exciting developments. Recently, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has released a statement reaffirming its commitment to advancing non-animal-based approaches. This statement underscores the tremendous promise of NAMs in studying biological functions and human disease. Additionally, NIH has proposed a Common Fund research program, Complement Animal Research in Experimentation (CARE), aiming to accelerate the development, standardisation, validation, and use of NAMs. Exciting times lie ahead on the NAM front!
As we look towards the future, we’re thrilled to celebrate the success of our recent mini-symposium! 🚀 Our event served as a dynamic platform to foster new collaborations and spark insightful discussions aimed at advancing NAMs. It was a statement to the limitless possibilities offered by NAMs to transform the landscape of research.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our exceptional speakers and attendees for their valuable contributions to making this event such a remarkable success! A special appreciation to Dr. Danilo Tagle, Director of the Office for Special Initiatives at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), NIH, for his enlightening presentation. Dr. Tagle shared invaluable insights into NCATS’ initiatives supporting NAMs, igniting inspiration among participants.
As we reflect on our symposium’s success and the broader advancements in NAMs, we eagerly anticipate many more opportunities for fruitful collaborations ahead!
